Introduction and Context

In the advent of workplace disruptions and accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, organizations need to rethink their organizational effectiveness in order to cope with the post pandemic disillusions. The Yellow Belt Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge is an assembly of a comprehensive set of topics and subject matters that are intended to be representations of the universally and commonly accepted, minimum competencies and core proficiencies requisite of Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belts. This is a 3 day workshop.
The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (LSSYB) certification will be aimed at those new to the world of Six Sigma and have interest or need to develop foundational knowledge. Yellow Belts can be employees who seek to improve their world or executive champions who require an overview of Six Sigma and DMAIC. This certification will adopt the approach of advancing the concept and potential of using Six Sigma tools and methodologies within an organization.
The Institute of Applied Project Management Ltd. was incorporated under the Companies Act (Cap. 486) as a Limited Company on 15th November 2010. Our aim is to empower individuals and organizations with standards, knowledge, tools, methods and techniques that describe good practices.

Training Objectives
•    This training and certification provides an insight to the tools and techniques of Lean and Six Sigma and it’s business process improvement methodologies. As a Yellow Belt the participants will be ready to participate as a core team member or subject matter expert on a project within their organization.
•    Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training gives employees a stronger understanding of processes, enabling each individual to provide meaningful assistance in process improvement to achieve the organization’s objectives. Yellow Belt completion provides the stepping stones towards Green Belt and Black Belt Certification.

Our Training Methodology

We use Case Study methodology that assist the participants to connect well with the workplace problems that needs to be solved. During the training, the participants will identify their own workplace process improvement projects that they will need to work on. We use power point presentations, relevant video clips, role plays and simulations in addition to the case studies, templates and group discussions.
Our facilitators have proven proposal development and programme work experience and also facilitated Process Improvement Project workshops both locally and in the East African Region.
Who should attend the training
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt course is designed for a professional who requires an understanding of the basics of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology and who supports process improvement projects as a part of a team. This will include Project Engineers, Project Managers, Finance staff, Logistics, Procurement, Project Leaders, Office Administration staff and anyone who is interested in making change happen in the workplace

Training Benefits to the Individuals

After the workshop, the participants will have acquired solid process improvement skills applicable in personal life and the workplace. This workshop qualifies for the 18 PMI PDUs. Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) registered Engineers will qualify for 18 CPDs from this training.

Workshop Budget
The tuition fee is Kenya Shillings Eighty Three Thousand Seven Hundred (KES 83,700) per participant. The cost is inclusive of VAT and caters for:
1.    Soft copy of the training notes
2.    Case Studies used for the training
3.    Customised templates for use in workplace
4.    Review of developed Process Improvement projects by the participants
5.    Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (LSSYB) Global exam
We need a minimum of 10 participants to run these workshops
Globally Recognised LSSYB Certification Exam
The LSSYB certification is Computer based time constraint test which consists of 85-question exam and is offered in English only. 75 questions are scored and 10 are unscored. Total exam time is 2hr 30min
